Rob Isringhausen Tribute
On January 14, 2006 something happened that shocked the
city of Springfield. A 49 year old man, known to many in the
community, got up in the morning, started his exercise routine,
collapsed and left this world to fall into the presence of God.
His name was Rob Isringhausen.
Rob was known to many people in Springfield for many reasons. He was known to some
as the owner and founder of Isringhausen Imports. He was a businessman with honesty
and integrity, which one may find rare in business today, especially in the auto industry.
Others knew Rob for his generosity. You would see his name associated with many
causes from the arts to Christian organizations. There was recently a photo in the paper
that showed a van he donated to Contact Ministries.
When I first came to Springfield 20 years ago, I met Rob and his parents Bob and Camille
at Grace Bible Chapel in Springfield. I had no relatives in Springfield and I was single.
Rob and his family made me feel like I was part of their family. I was invited over for family
functions and birthday parties. Once Rob held a surprise birthday party for me, the only
one I had ever had in my life. I always had Rob’s Cell Phone number programmed in my
phone to call in case of an emergency. I knew that whatever I needed, in whatever
circumstance, if I called Rob, he would be there for me.
I am sure that the newspaper could be full of stories like my own on how Rob gave and
gave and how he helped people. For myself and for others who “received” day in and day
out from Rob Isringhausen, may we begin “giving” like Rob unselfishly gave.

DECEMBER 4, 2005 Family Update
We have lots of news to report this month. First of all, we found out a couple weeks ago
that Horst will not be returning for the school year in January. His father is recovering
from his heart attack and doing better. Horst will be helping him in rehabilitation for three
weeks. Horst has returned to his school in Germany and wants to get more study in
math and science. Our high school here does not offer the type of math and science he
needs for his career. However, Horst has assured us that he will come back to visit us,
perhaps for Easter. We all look forward to seeing him again. In the meantime we are
communicating through the Internet and phone calls.
On my Book front, I found out this week that the official date for release will be February
21, 2006 by Tate Publishing. It will take them several more weeks to get the Marketing
Plan in place and arrange for nationwide book distribution. The book will be available
after the release date in bookstores and on book websites. I will then be planning some
book appearances to sign copies at book stores and various public events. I will be on a
Springfield Talk Radio Show and hope to be on other radio and television shows. Events
are being planned in Springfield, Benton, Marion, Carbondale and perhaps Chicago. In
the meantime, the only place to get the book now is through my web site. Sales on my
web site are doing well.
Our daughter Amanda will be turning five years old on December 18th! It doesn't seem
possible that she is five already. Where does the years go? We will have a party for her
the Saturday prior to her Birthday. She is real excited about the party.
I have joined the Big Brother Program and am anxiously awaiting for a match. I found out
that there are many boys and girls who are looking for Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Several have been on the waiting list for many months.
Let's all for now.
NOVEMBER 11, 2005
Today I have given my web site a new Make-Over! I hope you enjoy it! A lot has
happened since I last posted an entry in my BLOG. Yesterday I finalized by Book Cover.
It was a long process and we went through 20 different book cover designs. When we
saw the one chosen, we knew right away we had a winner. I hope you agree.
Tate Publishing Company is putting my book now on the fast track and we still hope to
get it out by Christmas. The Book is now in the Layout Department and we hope to
approve that soon. Then we will go on to Production and Marketing.
At home my arm is now out of the cast and into a portable splint that I can remove to
shower. Amanda and Horst continue to make us laugh and give me materials for my next
book. Horst continues to get words mixed up and he referred to straws as "Drinking
Sticks"!
NOVEMBER 19, 2005 Good Bye Horst
This has been a very sad week for the Wayman Family. We learned that Horst, our
exchange student from Germany who had become like a son, had to return back home.
His father Christian Wenzel had a massive heart attack. Host who was to stay with us
until June of 2006 left seven months early on Wednesday, November 16. He left an
emptiness in our hearts.
The three months Horst was with us he brought the feeling of joy and laughter to our
home. The challenge of getting to know someone new from another country was very
exciting and rewarding. He has a very charming, loving personality. We really got close
to him and fell in love with him very quickly.
Personally, he was the son I never had. We played pool, cards, went to movies, explored
the city of Springfield, went to a trip to Chicago, St. Louis and Benton. He was the
closest thing to a son I had ever known. And I loved every minute of it.
Horst's father had open heart surgery on Friday, November 18 and may have additional
surgery next week. We pray that he will recover and that his health will be restored. We
also pray that Horst will find a way to resume the Exchange Student Program next
semester.
Regardless what happens, Horst WE LOVE YOU!

Time to Do Something about Porno in Public Places!
It is time that we do something about the pornographic advertising in public places.
Yesterday while I was driving my 4 year old daughter a van for a local strip club pulled
up next to us. It was painted with girls that were half naked. My daughter asked me,
“What is that daddy? Why are those girls naked?” I did not know what to say.
Why is that type of advertising allowed in our community? I think it is time to do
something about that. I think there should be a law that regulates this. I do not want to
have to explain to my 4 year old about this.
What do you think?

My Book Deal!
Yes, it is true! I have signed a contract with Tate Publishing Company to publish my
book! I have been writing short true stories for over 20 years about funny things that
have happened in my life. I have approximately 150 pages of stories, many you will
see in my web site under “HUMOR”.
About three months ago, I submitted my manuscript to Tate Publishing Company out
of Oklahoma. Two weeks ago they called me to offer me a contract for publication.
This week I signed it and we are now off and running! The book should be out by
Christmas!
Tate Publishing told me that they receive over 11,000 manuscripts per year and only
offer contracts to between 250 and 300 people. I was very surprised and honored that
they found my book proposal good enough for publication.
They really liked my title. We all know we have coffee table books, so I thought why
not a bathroom book. A book that we can read in the bathroom. I titled my book,
“While You Do Your Business”, designed to read while you are on the can. The
subtitle of the book will be “Funny and Motivational True Stories to make you laugh in
all the Right Places.” I will have a book cover of a guy sitting on the toilet reading my
book laughing his head off!
There will be more details later on my web site. My Publishing Company has agreed to
spend a large sum of money promoting the book for me. They will develop a Marketing
Plan as well. I am real excited on this opportunity and wanted my Web Site Audience
to be one of the first to know! More on my book click here!

What we can do to help solve our Medical Care Crises in
America!
The big problem with medical care in America is not the quality of care but the COST of
care! We need to ask, why is the cost going up so drastically year after year in
America?
I am sure there are many reasons. However, I would like to address one of them. It is
the promotion of drugs in America like Coke. Every few minutes on television we see
and hear commercials about one drug or the other. Who pays for these
commercials? We do through higher medical care.
The drug commercials are made so that everyone will feel like they need the drugs,
even healthy people, who would not even consider such a drug if they did not see the
commercial. How many of us feel depressed on occasion? Everyone does. So we all
need anti-depression drugs. How many of us have heart burn on occasion? Everyone
does, so we all need the "purple pill".
We all see these commercials, we think we need the drugs, so we go to the doctor to
ask for them. If we did not see these commercials, we would not go to the doctors to
ask for drugs we do not need. The Doctors would not prescribe drugs we do not
need. Our insurance companies would not have to pay for the drugs we do not need
or the office visit.
So because of these commercials the cost of everything related to health care goes
up. Because of the more doctor visits we make and the more drugs we get, the cost
of our insurance goes up. It is a cycle that needs to be broken. We can break it by
simply BANNING TV ADS FOR DRUGS!
We did it in the 1970s for cigarettes and fewer people smoked and the country is more
healthy.
Join me in writing your Congressmen and Senators and ask them to sponsor legislation
to ban TV Drug Ads!
